Recommendations

Dear All,
Please see in attach
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iRMb8X9mN-8cInJuVyHargHIPM9E1Ibq5LRsYcKUuJg/edit#>
our
draft comment for the Call for public comments regarding the CCT-RT. The
document has been elaborated by Yazid, Juan, and myself with the support of
Rafik.
Since the deadline is also fast approaching, we would be glad to have your
feedbacks (new inputs, comments, suggestions) to finalise it. You can edit
the document directly. If you do not have any new input; I would
essentially call upon your summarising skills since I believe that many if
not most of the paragraphs should be briefer and more concise, however; we
did that on purpose so that readers can first get the whole picture and all
the details associated with each. Those members that have a strong
background on this topic are welcome to support us.
If you have no background about this call, please read the following lines
before you start reviewing the document.
*(Calls chronology and documents)*
1. The call *(Oct. 2018*) is about the final report
<https://www.icann.org/public-comments/cct-final-recs-2018-10-08-en> of
the CCT-RT submitted to the board for approval.
2. It follows and finalises the call (*Mar. 2017*) for comments about
the draft report
<https://www.icann.org/public-comments/cct-rt-draft-report-2017-03-07-en>
previously
submitted to the community.
3. Meanwhile, they also submitted a call (*Nov. 2017*) to comment on a new
report <https://www.icann.org/public-comments/cct-recs-2017-11-27-en>
outlining
some new findings (following the first draft) pertaining to DNS abuse,
costs to trademark holders, parking and consumer choice related sections.
4. Before that and regarding the DNS Abuse, ICANN had issued a call
<https://www.icann.org/public-comments/sadag-final-2017-08-09-en> (*Aug
2017*) to comment on the Statistical Analysis of DNS Abuse in gTLDs
(SADAG) Report which is also associated to the present call subjected to
comment (especially in the new findings mentioned above). Then the CCT-RT
tried to include some recommendations about that in the new findings report
submitted in Nov 2017.
*(Comments chronology and archives)*
1. The initial draft enumerated 50 recommendations and we commented on
that here
<http://mm.icann.org/pipermail/comments-cct-rt-draft-report-07mar17/attachments/20170520/f90bb73f/CCTRTInitialDraftCommentsforNCSG.pdf>
.
2. Then we had also commented on the (in-between) report highlighting
the new findings and our comments are available in this document
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zvwTtxa4GGMll-OwAAqnuYYahxtff5qrOeMpUYPiuYQ/edit>
.
3. Our comment on the SADAG report is available here
<http://mm.icann.org/pipermail/comments-sadag-final-09aug17/attachments/20171005/f9a4dc6b/StatisticalAnalysisofDNSAbuseingTLDsSADAGReportNCSGComment-0001.pdf>
.
*(Current task)*
The final version includes 35 recommendations versus 50 from the initial
report. Our job is now to scrutinise those 35 recs, compare, and check to
what extent they take our previous comments into account and recall them to
the CCT-RT and ICANN board, If necessary.
*Hint:* It is possible to download only the initial and final
recommendations from the pages above, those documents are briefer and
shorter in term of number of pages and can read very quickly for comparison.
I wish you a good weekend.

Best Regards
