Hi,

I do not know where the NCSG is at on the topics, aand as one of the
co-chairs for the group do not wish to take on writing the NCSG
comment. Though I will contribute to the process as an NCSG member.

One issue was brought up today in the discussion of categories for new
gTLDs. Robin, who i think is the only NCSG member other than me
suggested we should eliminate the community category because it appeared
so arbitrary. As a neutral co-chair I did not argue against but, but am
strongly against the idea of canceling communities as a category,
although I join others in wanting to see it less arbitrary.

On the questions asked in the CC1:

- do we support thee being more gTLDs, i assume we do

- do we support categories, like standard, [commuity], geo, brand,
closed generis, regualted and are the application categories of types of
contractual condition.

- do we support rounds or like the RySG would we like to see it evolve
toward FCFS? btw, a prediction from the RySG is that the next rounds
will include up to 10-15K application.

- what do we think about the balance of predictability vs flexibity? I
assume we want to see a balance, but what does that mean to us.

- what about community engagement during the application process. Most
agree it was rather helter skelter, how should it be managed in the next
procedures?

- should there be a limitation on the number of gTLDs that can be
applied for by one applicant, or during one round? I assume we are
anti limit.
