Almost all of the meetings will be livestreamed, you can tell by checking the schedule, there should be a connection to the livestream and the adobe connect. So Always good to check in advance, just in case they forgot the link.
I think we are perfectly justified in asking for employment. Some volunteer already. Other SGs charge significant fees, and also ask for e.g. business info, details about registration, number of employees etc. The BC used to screen out small business....it is their SG, they are allowed to do what they like, in their view small business could go join ALAC.
The issue is controlling the personal data to those who need to know, seeking a valid consent, and keeping it secure. For that, we depend on the membership system...
cheers Stephanie

This is certainly a concern, yes. I think it somewhat echoes a previous discussion on membership we've had as well (in the fall?)
Without changing the rules, I think we can ask more pointed questions. I haven't consulted my own self about our GDPR compliance, but well... we can do like ICANN org and plug our ears and sing it away? hahaha. Might be worth "consulting" informally with other SGs/Cs in Kobe about what they ask for?
Just a Q: will all those Kobe meetings be livestreamed and recorded? So that I can keep myself up to date with the discussions.
In any case thanks all for your cooperation on pending members

Thanks for the reminder Raphael, I just went through and looked at them all. Mine are done. (where is that angel emoji?) Can we get these done and announce before the meeting?
cheers Steph
PS I would like to discuss membership at our NCSG session. I don't think we are asking enough questions here to determine if folks are really going to contribute. We also do not really know, absent a question about how they earn their livings, whether they are representing corporate interests. Or government. I am sorry to be paranoid, but the more effective we are, the more we attract opposition. If we accepted, for instance, 100 Indian reps who were in fact following the direction of the Modi govt, they would control the elections and we would be in a fine pickle. I know this sounds paranoid but given how long it takes us to make changes, I would like to figure out a means of protecting ourselves.
Cheers Steph

Hi all
I suppose it would be important that we get this pile of applications out of the pending category before Kobe.
It's pretty simple; just login at members.ncsg.is<http://members.ncsg.is> and give your comments. Those on whom we all agree can then be properly added to the system.
That would be a first step, and we can then see what we do for the problem ones.
Thank you!
