maybe adding some context, that the fellowship program is being revamped
since last year and there were some consultations. One point that was
raised is related to engagement and participation of fellows. As the
selection committee is currently formed by members appointed by SO/AC, they
are taking input like this questions about skills and criteria among other
things  to refine their selection process and taking into account the
participation with more data.

hope that helps as that is just my understanding from following the process
and related discussions.
