05/22/2018 13:29:04 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
for ATRT, I really don't think we should postpone it
05/22/2018 13:29:19 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
but agree with your point.
05/22/2018 13:31:01 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
I can see you feel strongly about this one Rafik, and I agree with what you are saying, but I want to make a small point about process.
05/22/2018 13:31:14 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:

very gracefully!
05/22/2018 13:47:54 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
I don't like this chat part of WebEX. Adobe lets me express myself better.... Bring back adobeee
05/22/2018 13:49:53 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
None of the disruptors from the RDS group participated in that call.
05/22/2018 13:50:52 PM from Tatiana Tropina to All Participants:
I hope we will be on dobe next time
05/22/2018 13:50:57 PM from Tatiana Tropina to All Participants:

05/22/2018 13:53:49 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
we really just have 3.5 months!
05/22/2018 13:54:09 PM from Rafik Dammak to All Participants:
@Ayden see it as a PDP bootcamp :)
05/22/2018 13:56:40 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
new hand
05/22/2018 13:57:15 PM from Farell Folly to All Participants:
Sorry Guys, I have to leave you in 20 min. I am very sorry. Will listen to the record. Thanks for your understanding.
05/22/2018 13:57:50 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
thanks for attending Farrell!
05/22/2018 13:58:02 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
we need a budget for legal advice from day 1 of the EPDP, i think telephoning into every call, and i am almost tempted to say we should make the EPDP do a three week long face to face and not leave LA until they have an initial report ready and agreed... ;-) need to work differently on this one
05/22/2018 13:58:25 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
I agree...
05/22/2018 14:01:19 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
is there any benefit to an external facilitator, i.e. a trade negotiator, with no knowledge of WHOIS, being the chair?
05/22/2018 14:01:46 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
(aside from animosity because they'd be paid thousands of dollars an hour and we're volunteers)
05/22/2018 14:04:10 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
I was actually thinking along those lines, but we would have to influence the contract or ICANN will pick a Washington type. No washington negotiator/lobbiest would be acceptable to me, to determine an EU law compliant approach
05/22/2018 14:05:07 PM from Rafik Dammak to All Participants:
link to email with all notes, recordings and document presenting the models https://listserv.syr.edu/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind1805&L=NCSG-DISCUSS&X=2B503811B950D0BB2E&Y=rafik.dammak%40gmail.com&P=80302
05/22/2018 14:05:10 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
Thomas Rickert would be a great choice, seasoned trusted Chair and knows the law :-)
05/22/2018 14:05:18 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
and we have no budget... where will ICANN org find the $ from for this, i wonder?
05/22/2018 14:05:26 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
Thomas Rickert would be brilliant
05/22/2018 14:05:43 PM from Rafik Dammak to All Participants:
@Stephanie Thomas is good but not really neutral on the matter ;)
05/22/2018 14:05:50 PM from Avri to All Participants:
And he is good at neutrality when in the role
05/22/2018 14:05:52 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
different issue Farz, much less polarizing.
05/22/2018 14:05:54 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
i think he is objective
05/22/2018 14:06:06 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
Yes I know Fik, it was kind of a joke...
05/22/2018 14:06:11 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
but he is a great chair
05/22/2018 14:07:12 PM from Avri to All Participants:
Are co-chairs being considered, two people who are good at neutrality from each side of the issue
05/22/2018 14:07:30 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
can we talk about whether we should involve the other SO ACs?
05/22/2018 14:07:39 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
as observers, sure, but as members?
05/22/2018 14:07:59 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
what if the GAC sends us someone from the US gov and ALAC sends us the RDS RT Chair?
05/22/2018 14:08:21 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
so these are the things we need to put in the excel sheet
05/22/2018 14:08:31 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
who is coming up with the pros and cons?
05/22/2018 14:08:31 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
I think a professional alternative dispute resolution person could call the chairs whenever there was bias shown. WHile I think CHuck Gomes is a great chair, he should have called the disruptors more often than he did, and The Ombudsman was not really helpful, also did not intervene.
05/22/2018 14:08:33 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
:)
05/22/2018 14:09:50 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
3.5 months to get a first draft, there will need to be a face to face between meetings for this group to make progress, i reckon
05/22/2018 14:09:58 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
you may count on it, the ALAC liaison will want to be there
05/22/2018 14:10:26 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
I think it will be very difficult to exclude the GAC.
05/22/2018 14:10:54 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
oh someeomne put the chair on hold
05/22/2018 14:10:54 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
And with 100 new members, it will be difficult to find experienced folks.
05/22/2018 14:11:00 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
what? are all on hold?!
05/22/2018 14:11:01 PM from Rafik Dammak to All Participants:
can you hear me?
05/22/2018 14:11:04 PM from Tatiana Tropina to All Participants:
no
05/22/2018 14:11:05 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
no i can't Rafik
05/22/2018 14:11:09 PM from Peter Taiwo Akinremi to All Participants:

05/22/2018 14:11:14 PM from Flavio Andre Garces Heredia to All Participants:
yes
05/22/2018 14:11:14 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:

05/22/2018 14:11:15 PM from Tatiana Tropina to All Participants:

05/22/2018 14:11:23 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
jejeje
05/22/2018 14:11:33 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
that was trippy
05/22/2018 14:11:38 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
not funny!
05/22/2018 14:11:38 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
indeed
05/22/2018 14:14:06 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
is someone taking the Release of one .com?
05/22/2018 14:14:25 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
good!
05/22/2018 14:14:35 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
Join us, Martin
05/22/2018 14:14:37 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
!1
05/22/2018 14:14:45 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
sure
05/22/2018 14:14:46 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
oh my god I volunteered for .com public comment ... totally forgot
05/22/2018 14:14:51 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
jajaja
05/22/2018 14:14:57 PM from Flavio Andre Garces Heredia to All Participants:
where we can join those open public comment?
05/22/2018 14:15:00 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
haha
05/22/2018 14:15:13 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
we have to stop Farzaneh from volunteering
05/22/2018 14:15:16 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
Flávio, for each of them Rafik sets a placeholder google docs
05/22/2018 14:15:23 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
and he also sends the calls on the list
05/22/2018 14:15:34 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
and we can simply say: Hi, i want to join!
05/22/2018 14:15:56 PM from Flavio Andre Garces Heredia to All Participants:
oh great, thanks Bruna :D
05/22/2018 14:17:26 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
I can do a comment on RPM if you want, we have something coming up
05/22/2018 14:19:52 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
I thought we managed to kill that proposal?
05/22/2018 14:21:50 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
we managed to soften it, but is not dead
05/22/2018 14:22:01 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
sure
05/22/2018 14:22:13 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
dead is better than softened :)
05/22/2018 14:22:58 PM from Martin Silva to All Participants:
ajjaja
05/22/2018 14:24:50 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
I will, most definitely map out the discussions and send an update to the list soon
05/22/2018 14:27:34 PM from Farzaneh Badii to All Participants:
the number of times Stephanie says ICANN's failure :))
05/22/2018 14:30:08 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
I think it is the hangover from writing the dissertation....I had to clean out all the biased language and pretend to be neutral there....now I have a slingshot effect happening.
05/22/2018 14:30:13 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
:-)
05/22/2018 14:35:17 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
can you hear me?
05/22/2018 14:35:19 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
no
05/22/2018 14:35:25 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
now?
05/22/2018 14:35:56 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
Yes, this is very interesting Steph! Discussion on a data protection law is at full speed here in brazil and we have been hearing some absurd coments such as: GDPR is not a fight for more rights, the user cannot fully exercise the rights we gave them.
05/22/2018 14:43:00 PM from Avri to All Participants:
There is a footnote about this that state that if the views happen they will be funded and i think it explains the mechanism. But yes it is tilting toward not doing the review
05/22/2018 14:43:15 PM from Avri to All Participants:
... if the reviews happen ...
05/22/2018 14:43:18 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
There are serious limits to what the individual can do on his/her own to exercise rights. Just like we regulate roads and water quality, we need to ensure sound data protection practices at different levels...
05/22/2018 14:43:40 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
me me !
05/22/2018 14:45:33 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
There is a need to evaluate ROI from ALAC. They want to do policy work, but we need a critical analysis of what their output is.
05/22/2018 14:45:44 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
Just as we do for ourselves, of course....
05/22/2018 14:45:56 PM from Stephanie Perrin to All Participants:
But their resources are disproportionate....
05/22/2018 14:47:48 PM from Ayden Férdeline to All Participants:
thanks all
05/22/2018 14:47:54 PM from Tatiana Tropina to All Participants:
thanks all
05/22/2018 14:47:55 PM from Peter Taiwo Akinremi to All Participants:
Thanks
05/22/2018 14:47:55 PM from Bruna Martins Santos to All Participants:
thanks all
05/22/2018 14:48:02 PM from Shah Rahman to All Participants:
thanks all
05/22/2018 14:48:03 PM from Olga Kyryliuk to All Participants:
Thanks all
05/22/2018 14:48:26 PM from Flavio Andre Garces Heredia to All Participants:
