This issue is one of those areas where the best advice is to simply stand back, take a deep breath, and let common sense and wisdom occupy the driver's seat. Anything else involves construction a convoluted. complex, incomplete, and flawed basis for doing something exceptional, and an exceptional that will be fraught with problems with respect to rationale, policies, and implementation. 

Farzaneh put the case to rest in a short simple sentence: "There is no legitimate reason for governments to claim ownership over pronouns and other generic two letter domain names." 

That ng.com might be confused with com.ng (for a nonosecond) is no more a valid reason than arguing that President's Choice food products (in Canada) need a name change because someone might think that they are recommended by Donald Trump. I might add that Opium perfume and Canoe cologne contain neither opium nor canoes, but the names are allowed to stand. Words, and even two letter sequences, only have meaning in context, and there is no legitimate context for ownership claims here.

To cite a Turkish cityTLD domain name, we should not suffer bullshit.ist <https://bullshit.ist/>  arguments for arbitrary capture of two letter second level domain names. 

There is no need for a committee here. ..... full stop.
