[NCSG-PC] [Announcement re: ICANN86] GAC Discussion on DNS Abuse Mitigation

Dear all,

I am writing to share an update on an upcoming session at ICANN86.

The organizers of the GAC Discussion on DNS Abuse Mitigation<https://icann86.sched.com/event/2NQMb/gac-discussion-on-dns-abuse-mitigation> recently reached out to ask if I could present ARTICLE 19’s new report<https://www.article19.org/dns-must-enable-expression/> on DNS Abuse mitigation. As this was in my individual capacity, I was happy to agree and flagged to relevant parties.

Since then, they have asked if I would be willing to share a high-level summary of the NCSG’s position on DNS abuse beyond the PDP. This would be in my capacity as a member of the NCSG and as one of our representatives to the PDP. Given this is a more expansive role than originally intended, I wanted to make sure the PC were aware. Additionally, as this session conflicts with the NCSG’s HRIA session (see @farzaneh badii<mailto:farzaneh.badii at gmail.com>’s very helpful agenda shared in a separate thread), and I am already committed to participating in the session, I will plan to do so.
