Dear everyone,

One of the action items from our February policy call was for the PC to
resume sending a few lines of policy updates every other month. Please find
below the summary for March.

   1. U*niform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) Policy Status
   Report:*
      - The public comments period just opened and will close on 03 May
      2022.
      - The GNSO council is expecting a charter drafting team to be formed
once the council reviews the report.
   2. T*he System for Standardized Access and Disclosure (SSAD) ODP* –
      - The Operational Design Assessment report was published on 25
      January.
      - NCSG PC agreed to draft a letter outlining our concerns of the
      report to the board.
      - The GNSO council has also stood up a small team to assess the
report and advise the council on possible ways forward. One of our
councillors (Stephanie) is a member of that team.
   3. *SubPro ODP* – We received an update from the council liaison to this
   ODP. Basically:
      - Clarifying questions set No.2 from Org were sent to Council and the
council is still working on responses to them.
      - The ODP Liaison also reported that Org has pointed out that though
SubPro recommended a dedicated Applicant Support program Implementation
Review Team, which is not a sort of work done by an IRT since no
Consensus
Policies are being created. The Liaison has therefore proposed
that we use
an alternative vehicle to start such work, before the board adopts the
      recommendation report.
   4. *DNS Abuse* –
      - NCSG received an invitation from the Contracted Party House (CPH)
to "further dialogue and collaboration on trusted notifier
expectations and
malicious vs. compromised domains”. The NCSG DNS Abuse Task
Force and some
members of the PC met on 23rd February to discuss the invitation and
      prepare for that meeting.
      - The GNSO Council also stood up a small team whose central question
is to consider what DNS abuse issues are best mitigated via policy
      development specifically, if any.
   5. The Council is expecting the final report from the EPDP on Specific
Curative Rights Protections for IGOs in April

I hope you find this useful.

Tomslin.
