[NCSG-EC] [Ext] Re: More ICANN82 Information

Hello!

Yes, At-Large meeting will be in their room and GAC as well, if we can get a time that works.

The last NCPH meeting was less than 30 folks. I ask for room counts based on the same session from the previous meeting. Since NCSG hasn’t met with CPH in a bit, I don’t know what CPH will request for line count, they are scheduling that session. I’m sure they will give us the big room if it is available.

Kind Regards,
Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for sharing this. I get that we are moving to austerity period and slowly slowly ICANN meetings will be scaled down. For the sessions we requested, I think next available meeting room would be fine for now and we can assess later. Maybe it would be tricky for some joint meetings but for ALAC and GAC they can host us in their rooms. We can get the largest room for meeting with CSG and CPH?

Best,

Rafik

Hello all!

I wanted to pass along some information from the GNSO Secretariat.

Hello, some ICANN82 information to share. GNSO will only have one large room (total seats = 152). The other submitted GNSO meetings will go into next available room, which are smaller (seats = 41 or 54) in size. We may get lucky and other rooms dedicated to ALAC or ccNSO may not be in use and we can snag one of their rooms for GNSO submitted meetings. For this meeting, there will be one less meeting room over all. We wanted to set expectations early. Going forward, when discussing meetings with your group, it may be time to scale back a bit and ask the question, what are the expectations/benefits of holding f2f meeting vs virtual for each group. We will also all need to start rethinking how f2f meetings work.

Kind Regards,
Andrea

Here is the HRIA draft session description:

How to do an HRIA when mitigating DNS abuse?

After a successful session on HRIA and DNS abuse that took place in cooperation with the cph dns abuse working group, we would like to continue the conversation. One of the issues of next steps was to come up collectively with guidelines for the registrars when they are trying to consider the impact of disclosure of private information of domain name registrants on fundamental rights. Another was to do a lightweight human rights impact assessment on RDRS. This session will try to address both in collaboration with the community.

Hi Andrea,

for the NCSG HRIA session. @farzaneh badii<mailto:farzaneh.badii at gmail.com> can you please draft the title and description
For NCSG issue forum, just drafting quickly something: "NCSG will discus important policy topic for non commercial community and of interest for other parts of ICANN"
As @Tomslin Samme-Nlar<mailto:mesumbeslin at gmail.com> suggested, we should have 2 leads for this session, looking to have volunteers to work on the agenda and planning.

Best,

Rafik
