[NCSG-EC] IGF Expert group meeting process

For those unaware - I’ve been one of two NCSG representatives (along with Robin, who does not seem to be active in the group) in the Civil Society Coordination Group, which is basically a group in which representatives of several large civil society networks involved in Internet Governance meet to coordinate suggestions to the UNDESA etc about civil society representatives in UN processes and other global level Internet governance positions. These days the group is very quiet, and mostly just exists to coordinate suggestions for MAG delegates.
Bruna is also a member of the group, but as a representative of IGC not NCSG.
This is just to let you know that the suggestion has been made that CSCG convenes a Nominating Committee for the 3 civil society representatives to the IGF Expert Group Meeting, to be held 30 March- 1 April in New York. Normally for these situations I would issue a call for nominations on the NCSG-Discuss list, forward all nominations to the CSCG NomCom, and normally serve a the NCSG representative on the NomCom. https://www.intgovforum.org/en/content/igf-expert-group-meeting-egm <https://www.intgovforum.org/en/content/igf-expert-group-meeting-egm>
Please let me know if you have any comments or queries on the proposed process.
	Regards

		David

PS if the NCSG-EC would like to put in place a process to replace or renew either Robin or myself as representatives on this committee, that would be good. Though I recommend that we only put someone on the committee who is aware of the complexities of relationships between these groups. Though it is a fairly thankless task, and it is doubtful how much UNDESA weighs the groups recommendations in recent years.
