I am probably the holdup here....we went through the applications and screened out quite a few, on the basis of them being from people who had already been to many ICANN meetings, or if their country was already well represented at ICANN. Maryam, would you mind forwarding the 3-4 applications which made the cut to Farell? we are trying to decide this on the basis of who has the most potential to stay involved and contribute to the work, who has not already had opportunities, who appears to be most active in NCSG areas of interest.
Thanks so much for your help with this Farell!

Thanks, Stephanie for inviting me,
I am waiting for the working plan or the questions on which I can help.
Regarding the type of this call for fellowship, I think it is better to select those who usually contribute or are regionally / nationally engaged but had never got an opportunity to be sponsored before since it is intended to promote/simulate the participation of the underserved or underrepresented people. In my opinion, previous or recent fellows of ICANN/NCSG fellowship or other well-known Internet Org should not be chosen.
That said, I know some people within the candidates who were fellows and I wish they let this opportunity to others, but it is only a personal point of view.
Meilleures salutations,

Hi folks, here is a list of the applications we have received for that ABR slot for Marrakech. It is, as you can see, a lot. I asked Farell Folly if he could give us a hand understanding the SOIs....there are lots of people referencing local events, local organizations, and I think it would be very helpful to have someone with local knowledge give us a hand understanding the relevance of these events and organizations.
But get ready for some work at our meeting in Marrakech. Initial thoughts welcome. I am of the view that this award was designed for under-represented countries, we should not pick someone who regularly attends ICANN as a fellow. But my mind is still very open on this.
cheers Steph
