[NCSG-EC] NCSG Elections Timeline

Hi All,


So I got confused on this: did not we approve the gender and region limit rules for the GNSO Council election in the NCSG EC under Tapani chairpersonship?


So in the end, do we have those 2 person gender and region quotas for this election or not?

Hi Raoul

Unfortunately we cannot agree on these procedures before the upcoming elections because they have to be discussed with the members and takes time to follow the consultative procedure for their adoption.

We still need other ncsg ec members to agree on the timeline.

I think we also need to discuss some of the points that Tapani raised for the last elections, specifically the restrictions on gender and regions: https://lists.ncsg.is/pipermail/election-reform/2017-July/000022.html, and these could be written out for future election procedures - Tapani has already made most of the work for us.

It'd be good to agree on these before the election starts.
