Dear all,

I just received the message below from Ed. He is indeed leaving.

This means we need to appoint a temporary alternate(s) for him until
Abu Dhabi as well as put his council position up for election (1-year
term).

As there's council meeting *tomorrow*, we don't have time for a call
before that. So I propose appoint Avri as temporary alternate just for
tomorrow with quick unless-nobody-objects procedure on the list - for
longer term we can decide on our next call, whether it's next week or
the one after that. (If I read the GNSO OPs right a proxy assignment
is not possible in this case.)

So: please let me know WITHIN 24 HOURS if you object to appointing
Avri as temporary replacement for the next council meeting on 13 July.

Thanks for your warm wishes on my Facebook page. Things seem to be going
reasonably well here health-wise, but it's going to take time.

As we discussed a month ago, my work here was likely coming to an end soon
thanks to some employment opportunities that have come my way. Due to some
new circumstances beyond my control, though, we need to push the date up a
bit. So, sadly, please completely remove me from all NCSG lists, let the
GNSO know I won't be able to continue on Council, obviously you'll need to
get a replacement as NCSG Treasurer and Chair of the NCSG FC - you know the
drill. I need to focus my attention elsewhere right now. Really sorry I
have to walk away so soon, particularly with all the work I've been trying
to do on behalf of the NCSG membership, but sometimes life throws you a
curve ball that takes complete concentration to hit.

Thanks for your leadership - one of the few bright spots in an organization
increasingly void of same.
