You may. As it happens, that's exactly what's being planned. :-)

Again, we're in perfect agreement: Mailman is what Effi uses.

Yes.

Indeed the only technically difficult part of the migration is moving
the archives, as Syracuse University LISTSERV ... let's say doesn't
make it as easy as it could be.

That is also why it makes sense to move ncsg-discuss to Effi's server
now, even as a temporary measure: moving it again to another Mailman
host should be straightforward. NCSG's other lists are there already,
and moving them all will not be much harder whether there's one list
more or less.

Also, moving it again won't involve any visible change for users, as
the plan is to move it along with ncsg's domain (lists.ncsg.is).

So this is intended to be a temporary solution. Long-term plan is to
find some kind of hosted service for NCSG. But finding one that suits
us has turned out to be a bit difficult, and this should solve the
acute spam filtering problems (or at least mitigate them) in the
meantime.
