ICANN 81 report from your Brand New GNSO Councilor

We need more reporting like this from our elected Council representatives.

I would like to know more about one issue you mentioned, if there is anything to report:


Content moderation: There were discussions on content regulation and the role of ICANN. as you know regulating online services through ICANN violates its bylaws but we have to be careful not to go down that route.

The board resolved that it would NOT allow RVCs (registry voluntary commitments) that involve content regulation. Are there any reactionary movements to reverse that decision? Is it settled? Are there any opportunities to get GAC on board with that, as they seemed to take a different position a few meetings ago.
