Was the ABR webinar, an ABR webinar?

Heya Farz,

Thank you so much for your email and attention to this issue.

Firstly, I must acknowledge that Maryam and ICANN staff's help were of huge
help for this pas webinar - I have been truly overwhelmed with work and
dealing with some health issues - and without them this webinar wouldnt
have happened. But having said that, I agree that we need to
rethink/discuss the format of such webinars.

I remember asking similar things about the resources to staff but maybe we
can write a formal feedback about some of these issues in order to improve
the ABR process for the next years. And I must also confess that this
year's process left me a little undermotivated and that is I unilaterally
opted for not submitting a proposal for the 21/22 FY.

The main points to me were - a. choice of the specialists/course
facilitation - our facilitators were all ICANN staff,  b. use of resources
- I am not aware of how much was spent with this last webinar and if we
have spent anything from the allocated amount; and c. conditions of
approval: both NCSG and NCUC webinars have been approved under the
condition that the resources should be used for CS at ICANN (including
ALAC).  --- Re. point 'c' - while I do not oppose us streamlining the
resources and having material offered to a bigger part of the ICANN
community, I believe that the ABR process is relevant for
requesting initiatives to improve NCSGs work and sometimes the reminders
about the broader scope might have gotten in the way.

 I believe that any feedback we send to staff on this process might also be
helpful to our future ABR applications.
