Dear NCSG,

I am just circling back on a topic that was discussed this morning at the
Policy Call that is the *GNSO Standing Committee for Continuous
Improvement. *Despite being an issue that will be addressed at this week's
GNSO council's meeting, it is something the GNSO leadership is seeking
input from the SG and C's leadership teams.

For those of you who are not fully aware of what the SCCI is, this space is
a fora that has existed before
<https://community.icann.org/display/gnsosci/Home> under the scope of
*reviewing
and assessing the effective functioning of the GNSO Procedures and Working
Group guidelines *and tasked with the possibility of making recommendations
regarding (a) procedures and guidelines that have been identified as
problematic and (b) possible improvements on a periodic timescale for all
procedures and guidelines.

The discussions at the GNSO leadership level re. this revival of the SCCI
are considering the following remit:

*- Implementation of WS2 recommendations that are not SG/C specific;-
Assignments related to the Evolution of the Multistakeholder Model;-
Possible ATRT3 related assignments, including a possible future Continuous
Improvement Program;- Shepherding the GNSO Review process, if commenced;-
Review of Policy & Implementation WG recommendations;- Further input on the
Operational Design Phase process, if implemented by ICANNapplicable;-
Review of PDP 3.0 improvements and additional improvements identified;-
Empowered Community related assignments (to be assigned on a case by case
   basis by Council). *

Additionally to that, the idea is to have the following composition: (a) 2
representatives from each Constituency or Stakeholder Group and up to 2
alternates; (b) 1 Nominating Committee appointee and (c) 1 GNSO Council
Liaison. I understand there were some concerns from our members on the call
this morning about these efforts having any sort of conflict or duplication
with the GNSO work but I would like to ask if our concerns are exclusively
around this duplication. Every feedback on this topic is v. much welcome,
especially from our councilors and previous representatives at the SCCI
(and will help me and our constituency chairs provide feedback to the
leadership list).

Best regards,

*Bruna Martins dos Santos *
