REMINDER: 2020 NCSG Elections Nomination Process 14 - 28 May 2020

 Dear NPOC Members,
This is another election year where we put the the round pegs in the round holes. Leadership is a big task where we review past actions and ask leaders who are worthy of those positions to continue to serve.
On this note I'd like to nominate Ioana Stupariu for NPOC Secretariat and Oreoluwa Lesi for Communications Chair.
I believe Ioana has a very strong organizational project management skills sets which she can bring the experience to bear having seen some of those demonstrated initiative outside NPOC.Additionally, Oreoluwa Lesi has demonstrated a strong work ethic as the outgoing Secretary and I believe she can still make a better contribution to the organisation via her great communication skills sets.

Please note that the nomination process for the NCSG Chair and GNSO Council positions has started todayThursday, 14 May 2020 and will end Thursday, 28 May 2020.
 
 
 
The following 5 NCSG positions are up for election:
    
   - NCSG Chair - Stephanie Perrin, term limited
   - GNSO Council seat - Rafik Dammak - AAPAC (AGM 2020), term limited
   - GNSO Council seat - Elsa Saade - NA (AGM 2020), eligible for re-election
   - GNSO Council seat - Juan Manuel Rojas - LAC (AGM 2020), eligible for re-election
   - GNSO Council seat - James Gannon - EU (AGM 2020), eligible for re-election
 
*Nomination Process:*
    
   - Any member of the NCSG may nominate any NCSG active member either for the position of NCSGGNSO Council Representative or for NCSG Chair.
   - Once nominated, the nominee is responsible for public acceptance of the nomination and for making a *public statement* that includes:   
   
   - Name, declared region of residence, gender and employment;   
   - Any conflicts of interest;   
   - Reasons for willingness to take on the tasks of the particular position;   
   - Qualifications for the position;   
   - Statement of availability for the time the position requires; and   
   - Optionally, any other information that the candidate believes is relevant.   
   
**  Also note that under the rules, no more than two (2) NCSG GNSO Council Representatives can be declared resident of the same geographic region as defined by ICANN, and there should be at least two of each gender.
 
**  These terms all commence on 22 October 2020 (at the conclusion of the 2020 Annual ICANN Meeting).
