Sorry, for those of you not familiar with the term “domainers” these are people who register a lot of names and sit on them and hope to re-sell them.
For these actors, the registry price is the cost of holding inventory. So their opposition to any price increase from .org is basically just a way to increase their profit margins. It has very little to do with the ordinary domain name registrant who actually uses the name.

Domaining is a perfectly legitimate business, but let’s not confuse their interest with our main constituency’s interests.

You should see what’s going on out there: there are hundreds of comments opposing the proposed changes to the .ORG contract.
