[imp][elections] NCSG Elections/ Timeline/Check in and Positions

I would support the idea of a separate email for check in for GDPR compliance (as opposed to for voting purposes).  In particular, there are organizations (like R Street, where I belong) where the organizational check in does not necessarily check in all of the individuals of that organization (like me) who are participants in the NCSG as part of their organization.  

 

Put another way, my colleague at R St. will check the organization in to vote.  I need a chance to check in for myself …

However, the aspect of removing people because they are inactive is not same as wanting to be removed from a list.

I think it deserves a separate mail to ensure compliance to GDPR that is if we have not done so already, but should not be hidden under election tension.

Aug  07            voting begins

Aug  20             voting ends

Aug  21            results announced

 

Positions: 

 

Chair:

Farzaneh Badii - current NCSG Chair (till AGM 2018) -  eligible for another term

 

GNSO COUNCILORS: 

Rafik Dammak - Asia Pacific (AGM 2018) - eligible for another term

Stephanie Perrin – North America (AGM 2018) – term-limited
Martin Silva Valent – Latin America and the Caribbean (AGM 2018) - eligible for another term

Please note that the "check-in" is a very important phase of the elections. As with other years, we will have a list of active and inactive members on the wiki based on  “check-in”. Those who do not check-in will be moved to the inactive members' list. 

 

It is important to note that due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) if you do not check in, we will have to remove you from the NCSG discuss mailing list. You can always sign up again by sending an email to the chair of NCSG (chair at ncsg.is <mailto:chair at ncsg.is> ). You will receive this information in the check-in email with the appropriate language.
