Sent my email before reading Farzi’s. One quick point to perhaps emphasize what I have already said, and to take advantage of an opportunity to disagree with Farzi ;-):

The SSAC is a unique case, as its members are appointed by the CEO and the ICANN Board, so technically, there is something the CEO can do there. :-) The SSAC in particular has a very technical job, which to my knowledge is not really enhanced by regional diversity. If anybody knows potential recruits from underrepresented regions with the technical skills and expertise, as well as the time and willingness to join the SSAC, then please ask them to step forward to be considered for membership.
