Dear SG/C Chairs,

I hope this email finds you safely.

This message provides a brief update about the GNSO Standing Selection
Committee (SSC) and an action item for your SG/C.

Since the last AGM (ICANN84), the SSC successfully completed the following
assignments it received from the GNSO Council:

   1. GNSO-Appointed Fellowship Program Mentor – 2026

Each year, SSC’s workload varies depending on the requests received from
the Council, except for recurring work. The next anticipated SSC assignment
– which is a recurring process – is the annual selection of the ICANN
Fellowship Program Mentor; this process is to start at the end of the
calendar year (with the submission of name by the end of January 2027).
This year, we also anticipate the task of selecting a GNSO-Appointed
Selection Committee Member at the same time.

As a Standing Committee, the Council may call on the SSC at any time to
identify replacement candidates for those who step down from appointed
positions. Therefore, it is important to have a Committee ready on an
ongoing basis. According to the SSC Charter, *"The membership is expected
to be confirmed by each Stakeholder Group and Constituency and the
nominating committee appointees within 3 weeks after the end of the ICANN
AGM. The term for an SSC member is 1 year. Members may not serve for more
than two consecutive terms, with the exception of the GNSO Chair and/or
Council Vice-Chairs.” *In other words, *members may serve a maximum of two
consecutive terms*.

With ICANN87 (AGM) approaching, the GNSO Support Staff is reaching out to
you to re-confirm members that are eligible to remain on the SSC and/or
identify replacements, where appropriate. The members of the SSC are listed
in the table below with each eligibility noted in the “Status” column:
