hi all,
I didn't get a direct request but there was info in the ICANN newsletter
about
Planning Prioritization group nomination. I mentioned previously about
this group during discussion of the GNSO council prioritization topic.
Currently we have Peter and Amin there. So we should discuss opening a call
for candidates and/or reappointment . Please info below:
> *Planning Prioritization Group Nominations Needed by 9 July 2026*
> We are seeking to confirm the community members for the FY28 Planning
> Prioritization Group. *We ask that the ICANN stakeholder groups reconfirm
> or nominate new member(s) from your group by 9 July 2026*.
>
> Please email the name of the members that you have reconfirmed/ nominated
> to planning at icann.org, with a copy to the Policy Strategic Management
> team (policy-strat-mgt at icann.org).

On the other hand, I want to take the opportunity to remind you about a
proposal I shared at ICANN86 in the NCSG membership session to get a
working group for NCSG to help for strategy and planning with focus on
budget and operating plan. A WG would include FC members, councillors and
other NCSG members, coordinating closely with PC:
1. Early planning and prioritization from NCSG standpoint. Budget
process for next FY will start next month.
2. Coordinate with GNSO Policy Team to input at earlier stage to add our
requests to initial budget
3. Draft NCSG strategy and requests.
4. Draft NCSG comment for public consultation
The WG would also focus on prioritization. Happy to develop the proposal if
there is interest.
Best,
Rafik
