Hi,
we got also application from Ken Herman after the deadline
"I would like to submit for consideration to serve as a member of the Board
Seat 14 Search Committee.
By way of qualifications to participate, i submit the following:
*Experience in selection committees:* This is perhaps my strongest area.
Within organizations like the UN, all staff appointments across the full
range levels are done through panels, not just of individuals within a
specific department but with outside those departments. Throughout my
career I have been called upon to participate in such panels and are
familiar with the concept of trying to discern whether or not a specific
candidate meets the requirements of the position.
*Understanding of the ICANN Board:* Alas, i cannot claim to have extensive
knowledge or experience with the Board, but I believe I have sufficient
familiarity to judge whether a candidate would be a good fit.
*Some GNSO policy knowledge:* Having participated in one policy review
(transfer) and been active in several others, such as RDRS, where I helped
to organize the initial NCSG briefings, and where I follow others such DNS
abuse and my recent contribution to the Accuracy discussions, I believe
that I have sufficient awareness of many of the key policy issues for this
role.
In addition, i have many years of meeting facilitation experience, which
may prove beneficial for discussions of this nature."
best,
Rafik
