Thanks for the question. I don't think we have an official name yet nor have done anything further with it, since we weren't sure of the process. I have one other interested candidate contact me as well. If we are expected to put forward an officially supported candidate, then I have to make the call on the mailing list to give everyone a fair chance.

What @Juan Manuel Rojas said below, that's it. This is an SO role, so we usually just forward the announcement to our folks, which Andrea already did. I have never known a process where GNSO asks for formal recommendations. My understanding is that all interested candidates from GNSO throw in their ticket in a hat, and the SSC picks from the hat.

I think we could use that last part as an asset. If I am not wrong we have people who had served as NextGen Mentor before.

That is a good point, but I guess it depends on what kind of support/
experience/guidance the mentor is supposed to provide - support for
being on the nextgen program or support in actual policy work in ICANN.
