Question 2, I'm concerned.
I'm not sure we should be doing "engagement" with other groups during
Prep Week. I thought we developed Prep Week to help bring people "up to
speed" on issues that have been developing between the meetings. What's
happened? What's been written? A way to prepare for discussions - and
engagement - at the ICANN meeting.
So shouldn't engagement be when we are face to face?
Which leads to another question - what is the type of "engagement"
taking place in these prep week sessions. If they are just an initial
discussion of material presented by PDP Co-Chairs, or ICANN Staff on
IRTs, that sounds OK. Everyone should be exploring.
But if these sessions are designed to be cross-community sessions or
cross-SG collaborations, please take it out of Prep Week and put it in
the ICANN meeting! That's where they belong - and we have good remote
participation to bring in everyone.
Best, Kathy
