Hi all,

I am sharing here the NCSG Policy call draft agenda scheduled in Wednesday
21st august.

For council agenda, we don't have motion to vote. We have some topics for
discussion such as the response to board resolution on EPDP phase 1
recommendations and ICANN letter regarding data accuracy for EPDP,
continuing the discussion started in the last call and in council list.
Another topic of interest will be the draft response from council prepared
by small team to referrals from board about CCT-RT recommendations.

Please review and feel free to suggest  addition/amendment to the agenda.

I?m sending you both this email to let you know that I?ve taken CentralNic
on as a client, which is to say that I?ll be working with them for a short
while. I?m in the process of signing a fixed-term consultancy agreement
with them, and expect to be working with them for the next six months, or
so.

I?m also sending this email, and am asking that Rafik forward it to the
NCSG Policy Committee. The PC appointed me as one of the NCSG members
representing it on the GNSO EPDP on the Temporary Specification  for gTLD
Registration Data, so I believe I have an obligation to inform them of any
association I might have with a member of another group at ICANN.

I?m quite certain that there is no conflict-of-interest between the work
I?m doing for CentralNic, and that which I?m doing for the NCSG. The work
I?m doing for CentralNic has nothing to do with ICANN or the GNSO, and
CentralNic understands that I will not be representing their interests
within the GNSO, or at ICANN in general. Also, the workload I?ll be taking
on will not prevent me from continuing to participate in the EPDP. I plan
on updating my GNSO Statement of Interest soon, but thought I?d give you
and the PC a heads-up first.

Dear all,

I?ve wanted to suggest language for the EPDP Phase 1 letter from the
council to the board since our last meeting. With the help of some of us, a
draft was written. Here it is:

?One of ICANN core values is to ascertain the global public interest
through the bottom-up, multistakeholder policy development processes.
1.2(b)(ii)The Board has invoked global public interest or public interest a
number of times in its resolution as the basis of its decision regarding
the EPDP phase 1 policy recommendations. When invoking public interest, as
recommended by IRP outcomes and directed by ICANN Bylaws, the Board needs
to be very specific about the material effect that the recommendation has
on public interest. Invoking GAC advice is not on its own sufficient. The
council is concerned about the process that the Board has used to assess
the effect of the recommendations on public interest.?

I?m also considering inputting the lnguage mentioned by Marika on the chat
during the council meeting.

Please let me know your thoughts and/or any amendments! I?m aiming at
sending this by tomorrow or Monday the latest.
