I can guess what the rationale is. "Given the stabilising budget there is a need to prioritise what work within ICANN’s mission gets done" would be how I imagine they’d respond... I don’t think we are going to get much detail than that unfortunately. So how do we counter this? Would love to hear some ideas on how we ‘sell’ CROP. My first attempt is in the proposed Budget comment but we might need something to wrap up for the SCBO and other fora.
