Nicely written, great to have new folks taking the lead.  I do wonder though if the argument wouldn?t be more compelling if we were to propose some clear guiding principles for or concrete examples of how it could be done better.  Conversely, on the negative side I?d think if are going to accuse colleagues of ?empire thinking? we?d want to be clearer on how they?ve succumbed to this, rather than getting into the lack of privileges for one million native Polish speakers living in the UK, etc.
