[PC-NCSG] NCSG Informal Meeting on the Topic of GNSO Council Chair Elections

Hi Amr,

I believe it is inappropriate for the Chair of the Policy Committee to call for a private unrecorded meeting of Councillors, on the PC list, because of his concern about how people are going to vote in the election, given his well known support of a certain candidate.

I have no problem if you sent out individual email invites or personally asked people to come together to talk about things or to lobby for your candidate. It is not appropriate to use this list to do so given your position as PC Chair.

Regards,

Ed

I am concerned that overt electioneering of a more pressured kind does not respect the independence we grant our Councillors. If there was a desire to bind us on this vote there was ample time to do so and formal procedures in place to do so.

You, yourself, have been actively speaking to some of our councillors on this topic in private, but you object to us all meeting to discuss it together? Why do you believe it is wrong to do so?
