This additional budget approval process is part of the overall ICANN annual budgeting process that is for the review of specific requests from the community that are not already included in the budget but serve to further the key objectives of the requesting community group. Your active participation and adherence to procedural guidelines is greatly appreciated. ABR have historically been used for travel to meetings, and during* FY18* there was a shift towards capacity building, outreach and communication support, 14 requests were declined in FY18. In *FY19* the approved ABR we currently running on is centered around travel, communication and capacity building,6 requests were declined. All this changes were necessitated by budget cuts but it seems like in FY20 the ABR will some how improve according to the ICANN finance during ICANN 63 during their FY20 planning meeting, so based on positive community responses from the capacity building approach, I would recommend that we still maintain capacity building, improving on communication while trying to support active and committee members engage more in PDPs and ICANN meetings. We need to find other ways of supporting members to represent and participate. 2. Secondly, we need to understand what the priorities and current projects that are running and how they can be supported through this ABR process from constituencies, committees, working groups and the Stakeholder Group itself. 3. It would be good to get proposals from the community before the official submission 4. I hope starting with ICANN 64, the Finance Committee will be able to hold sessions during ICANN meetings with the community, not knowing what impact this might have on the current ABR and future ABR submissions.. 5. We are happy to help with this process 5. Please checkout the FC Wiki space for 2018 and 2019 ABR analysis, hope this helps, thanks. Thato Mfikwe. We are looking after the managed hosting with the tech team and James Gannon is looking into options. we normally receive 9000 USD each year for technical management of NCSG which we have spent this year on CIVI and hosting. Its not enough to decline support for FC and then turn around to expect it to deliver optimally. Until and unless we review our processes to entrench accountability and transparency, then, and only then we can make requisite progress and make FC attractive for volunteers too.
