Greetings all –
I realize today is a big day for ICANN with the opening of the new round. However, I wanted to call your attention to this blog post by Tripti: https://www.icann.org/en/blogs/details/chairs-blog-preview-of-the-may-board-workshop-29-04-2026-en
She confirms here that – yet again – the CPH is enjoying private one-on-one time with the ICANN board during the contracted party summit in Manchester, which is now ongoing. This includes a briefing on how the CPH sees the current status of the domain name industry.
In the past, the NCPH has asked for commensurate time with the board to provide its own perspectives on the industry. While we didn’t enjoy extended time over days like the CPH does (yet again), we were granted an hour of time with the board during the Istanbul meeting.
Speaking personally, I’m not wild about the mismatch of the time granted to each house, but I do think this is an opportunity to request again NCPH time with the board during the AGM this October, likely during our Day 0 event (presuming it’s granted). Rafik and John, I defer to you here on making such an ask. You may want to collaborate with Chris Buckridge on this.
