Hello Julf!
The RrSG is planning our ICANN81 session “/Perspectives on Registration
Data Accuracy/”, a listening session focused on registration data
accuracy with inputs from various Community viewpoints. This session
will include breakout discussions in person and on the Zoom,
taking place at 16:30 – 17:30 local time on Monday, 11 November 2024.
We are asking for your input as a group representing the perspective of
the registrant to help kick start the discussion by sharing your
thoughts on *what accuracy means in the context of domain name
registration data*. We are not looking for official vetted SG/SO/AC
Positions, but rather for*key perspectives on the topic from those who
are directly involved.* Our intent is to provide the perspective on
screen and in the slide deck, identified by group type but not naming
who contributed the text.
Would you be able to assist us with getting *brief *input from the
registrant perspective? We’re reaching out to you as NCSG chair but you
are of course welcome to delegate this to someone else in the NCSG We
don’t need the actual input right away, just a yes or no to whether your
group will be able to provide input to the session; then we’d need the
final text from you in the week of October 14th.
Here are some questions to spark discussion (these may already be
familiar to you):
* What does it mean for registration data to be accurate?
* What concrete effects have we seen from inaccurate data, how is it
stopping legitimate things from happening?
* What processes should be in place to ensure data is accurate? Do
those processes pose risks of their own?
We look forward to hearing back from you and please don’t hesitate to
reach out if you have any questions about this request.
Thank you,
Ashley Heineman
Chair, RrSG
