I am reaching out to see if it would be possible for the NomCom Outreach Subcommittee to be added to the NCPH session agenda at ICANN79? They will only need 5 min and it would be good to be able to reach all of NCPH at one time.

Hello all!

One of the takeaways from day zero in Hamburg was scheduling an NCPH session at upcoming public meetings. The scheduling has begun for ICANN79 and I currently have the NCPH session scheduled for Tuesday, 05 March 10:30-12:00 local time. There are no 2 hours blocks at this meeting. If this is an issue, please let me know right away as there are not many 90 minute block on this schedule that would work for this meeting.

Dear CSG and NCSG Excomms,

Coming off of the great success of our day zero meeting in Hamburg, I am reaching out regarding the creation of Team 14!

As a reminder, the discussion in Hamburg for Team 14 tasks was as follows:

  1.  Updating procedures for tiebreaking a stalemate on ICANN Board seat 14
  2.  Standardizing interviewing guidelines (for both houses)
  3.  Establishing performance review criteria for the Board seat occupant
  4.  Further defining a procedure for selection of GNSO council vice chair

Please send a call for volunteers for 3 members from each SG. Please provide your 3 names for this team to me (andrea.glandon at icann.org<mailto:andrea.glandon at icann.org>) by Monday, 15 January 2024. We anticipate meetings beginning in late January or early February. The cadence for the meetings will be 60 minutes every other week. Once the members have been chosen, I will send out a Doodle poll to establish a meeting time.

Paul?s plan for the first meeting is to have an intro call and agreement on the team?s scope. The second call will be discussion and completion of a work plan. As stated during day zero, Paul will provide (with my assistance) updates on the team?s progress.

I?m looking forward to seeing NCPH cooperation in action! Please let me know if you have any questions.

We have operating procedures on travel, which lays out the process, I think
we should have an open call and if EC members want they can apply.

   1.

   If a Council member or a funded NCSG Executive Committee cannot attend
   the meeting, the following process should be invoked to decide upon the
   travel slot transfer:
   1.

      The NCSG chair announces the opportunity on the NCSG-Discuss list and
      requests that the interested members send their Motivation Statement
      privately to the Chair and copy in ICANN support staff.
      2.

      The Motivation Statement must explain in detail why the applicant
      would like to attend the meeting, provide evidence of full and verifiable
      engagement in Domain Name System policy deliberations, proof that the
      applicant has previously attended calls and contributed to PDPs, NCSG
      Policy Committee meetings and other relevant policy and related meetings,
      and explain why their physical presence is important for this meeting,
      mentioning specific tasks they commit to carry out on behalf of the NCSG.
      The tasks must be related to the NCSG and advance the NCSG?s interests at
      that specific ICANN meeting.
      3.

      If the applicant is to be an alternate to a GNSO Councillor, he or
      she should have an understanding of how the Council works and
have observed
      their meetings beforehand. They must provide a letter of recommendation
      from either a) the Chair of the NCSG Policy Committee, or (b) a serving
      member of the Council in his or her second term.
      4.

      While Execeutive Committee? travel slots may be allocated to
      newcomers, newcomers should commit to attending  sessions of the NCSG
      leading up to the ICANN meeting, as well as undertaking revision and
      background reading on at least one internal governance document and a PDP.

      5.

      The applicant must commit to attending the ICANN meeting fully, be at
      the meeting venue every day, and be present to the greatest
extent possible
      at all NCSG meetings, constituency meetings, GNSO Council
meetings, and PDP
      sessions for which they have expressed interest in their Motivation
      Statement. If the selected applicant does not appear to be present at the
      venue without justification, s/he will not be eligible to be allocated a
      travel slot in the future. The decision of such ineligibility
will be made
      by the NCSG Executive Committee (in the evaluation of at least
two members).

As one of our councillors had to cancel their travel, we have a spare
travel slot that we need to assign before January 17th.

I am hereby requesting those of you who are interested to submit
(as per the NCSG operating procedures) your Motivation Statement
to me by private email, copying ICANN support staff. As we need
some time to evaluate the statements, the deadline to submit your
statements is Friday, January 12.

The operating procedures stipulate that:

- The Motivation Statement must explain in detail why the
   applicant would like to attend the meeting, provide evidence of
   full and verifiable engagement in Domain Name System policy
   deliberations, proof that the applicant has previously attended
   calls and contributed to PDPs, NCSG Policy Committee meetings
   and other relevant policy and related meetings, and explain why
   their physical presence is important for this meeting,
   mentioning specific tasks they commit to carry out on behalf of
   the NCSG. The tasks must be related to the NCSG and advance the
   NCSG?s interests at that specific ICANN meeting.

- The applicant must commit to attending the ICANN meeting fully,
   be at the meeting venue every day, and be present to the
   greatest extent possible at all NCSG meetings, constituency
   meetings, GNSO Council meetings, and PDP sessions for which they

Coming off of the great success of our day zero meeting in Hamburg, I am 
reaching out regarding the creation of Team 14!

As a reminder, the discussion in Hamburg for Team 14 tasks was as follows:

  1. Updating procedures for tiebreaking a stalemate on ICANN Board seat 14
  2. Standardizing interviewing guidelines (for both houses)
  3. Establishing performance review criteria for the Board seat occupant
  4. Further defining a procedure for selection of GNSO council vice chair

Please send a call for volunteers for 3 members from each SG. Please 
provide your 3 names for this team to me (andrea.glandon at icann.org 
<mailto:andrea.glandon at icann.org>) by *Monday, 15 January 2024*. We 
anticipate meetings beginning in late January or early February. The 
cadence for the meetings will be 60 minutes every other week. Once the 
members have been chosen, I will send out a Doodle poll to establish a 
meeting time.

Paul?s plan for the first meeting is to have an intro call and agreement 
on the team?s scope. The second call will be discussion and completion 
of a work plan. As stated during day zero, Paul will provide (with my 
assistance) updates on the team?s progress.

Since there was no criteria for selection when we put the call out, I can
only think of going with the order in which the interests were received. By
my recollection, this was the order:
1st: Bruna
2nd: Rafik
3rd: Farzi
4th: Wisdom
5th: Caleb

Based on this, the first 3 are *Bruna*, *Rafik* and *Farzi*.

Open to other suggestions.

Dear NCSG EC,

Please see below the deadlines for ICANN79 design and translation. As a reminder, there is no printing for ICANN Public Meetings anymore.

18 JANUARY 2024: DESIGN DEADLINE:
If you require design assistance for your publication, you need to provide all the text, images, layout, and publication type/size requirements (i.e. one-pager vs. trifold, etc.). You will receive a maximum of 2 iterations of the publication. Please provide everything by 18 JANUARY.  Due to budget constraints, please keep in mind that all materials, new or updated, need to be evergreen.

30 JANUARY 2023: TRANSLATION DEADLINE:
If your publication requires translation, please provide the final material(s) by 30 JANUARY. This ensures that there is enough time to translate the publication by the start of the meeting, with the possibility of potential changes. If your materials require design assistance (outlined above), please note that the final materials will have to be complete, including the edit/approval process, by this deadline to be translated.

Coming off of the great success of our day zero meeting in Hamburg, I am reaching out regarding the creation of Team 14!

As a reminder, the discussion in Hamburg for Team 14 tasks was as follows:

  1.  Updating procedures for tiebreaking a stalemate on ICANN Board seat 14
  2.  Standardizing interviewing guidelines (for both houses)
  3.  Establishing performance review criteria for the Board seat occupant
  4.  Further defining a procedure for selection of GNSO council vice chair

Please send a call for volunteers for 3 members from each SG. Please provide your 3 names for this team to me (andrea.glandon at icann.org<mailto:andrea.glandon at icann.org>) by Monday, 15 January 2024. Can we get a clarification on this:

Arrive at a mutually agreed-to approach regarding rebalancing of GNSO Counci
l representation.

Over the years on EPDPDs etc CSG constantly asked for adding reps and
having more reps than us. And lets not forget their fight to be over
represented at NomCom.

on NomCom as long as it is not taken from them.

As to GNSO Council, we might just find out that our ideas go
in opposite direction. Their desire is very definitely reducing
the weight of the CPH.

One of the takeaways from the NCPH Day Zero meeting in Hamburg was to try to schedule a breakfast with ICANN Board Members at ICANN Public Meetings. I have reached out to Board Ops and a breakfast with the GNSO appointed Board Members, Becky Burr and Chris Buckridge, is possible.

I can work with Board Ops to find a day that works for both Becky and Chris. Are there specific days that would work for the NCPH Executive team?

For NCSG session, we haven't invited anybody else yet? Can we invite CPH
(Reg) to discuss DNS abuse with us? That could be a PC segment as well.
Have we set up meetings with other stakeholders and constituencies? A
meeting with ALAC would be good to see where we align and what their plans
are. Also I think ASO doesn't know what we do much, so inviting Herve and a
few others would be great. I also don't mind talking to SSAC to tell them
about our concerns with their letters and requests that undermine
user privacy.
I see that we have a meeting with the Board. It would be good to tell the
Board what we are up to and what our concerns are with their most recent
resolutions.
