Hello all!

I met with someone from AGH Strategies to try to understand how Civi works and the next steps for member approval.  It seems that I need to go through and either approve or reject each applicant, cased on the decisions of the EC. Until I do this, those applications will continue to stay in the queue as if they are new.  I will be doing this this week and will move forward with adding new members to the appropriate discuss lists once given the go ahead from Bruna. I will also update the one member who mistakenly applied for NCUC and meant to apply for NPOC.

I wanted to finally share with your the document with all the applications
for the two travel slots we have for ICANN 75. At the end of the week,
considering the names that withdrew their applications and so on, we had 12
applicants, as highlighted in the list below:

ICANN 75 - Travel slot replacement applications

Heya, Caleb,

I don?t think I fully understood the intention behind your request but
maybe it?s interesting to start asking members to state their gender
self-identification on any upcoming application forms in order to ensure
that we have some level of gender balance in future selections and so on.

My issue with determining members gender like you did is due to the fact
that it?s not everyone that identifies with the gender they were born with
and I would not like for the EC to be responsible for misidentifying
anyone. But having said that, I have always tried and aimed for gender
balance in all our funded traveler calls and so on.

Now going back to the current call, I see you and Bukola voted for
Bolutife, but given he already attended last meeting and we also want to
use this sponsored slot for new names, I?d like to ask you whether you or
Bukola would like to change your vote to Razoana. She was the runner up
last time we opened a call and is someone that?s looking for an improved
engagement with NCSG.

What do you think ?

Im writing to let you know that the NCSG EC has voted and we selected the

Heya, Caleb,

I don?t think I fully understood the intention behind your request but maybe it?s interesting to start asking members to state their gender self-identification on any upcoming application forms in order to ensure that we have some level of gender balance in future selections and so on.

My issue with determining members gender like you did is due to the fact that it?s not everyone that identifies with the gender they were born with and I would not like for the EC to be responsible for misidentifying anyone. But having said that, I have always tried and aimed for gender balance in all our funded traveler calls and so on.

Now going back to the current call, I see you and Bukola voted for Bolutife, but given he already attended last meeting and we also want to use this sponsored slot for new names, I?d like to ask you whether you or Bukola would like to change your vote to Razoana. She was the runner up last time we opened a call and is someone that?s looking for an improved engagement with NCSG.

What do you think ?

NCSG has a hard deadline on the 9th September to submit our topics of
interest and questions for our meeting with the ICANN Board during ICANN75.
In light of that, I will be receiving suggestions until next Thursday,
September 8th, from all our members and leadership.

Please feel free to consult internally with your Constituencies, groups and
ECs and submit your suggestions.
