Circling back on this one. It sounds like the suggested implementation of setting up a dedicated email account that staff can CC or BCC and having all emails from that account logged in CiviCRM as activities is the most straightforward and cheapest option here. If you set can set up a dedicated email account that is IMAP/POP3 compatible, we can do the rest. It would take about 4 development hours to complete. You have 6 hours left on your block so it should fit inside your remaining hours. Let me know how you would like to proceed. Thanks! As for where the email account should be, my preference would be the CiviCRM host itself (members.ncsg.is), it has all necessary software (postfix, dovecot) already installed, creating a new account and enabling incoming mail for it should be pretty trivial. Of course you could also use Google or whatever, but then you'd be creating an unnecessary dependency on them (and some might not like the idea of Google reading all these messages either). Each email is then logged into the backend as an activity for the member in question, which allows in turn EC members to track this communication flow from a front end. Tapani, would you be able to create that email? I could use input from other EC members as for its label - probably something like membership@ or even rfi@ Thanks On Sat, Jul 13, 2019 at 5:16 AM Caleb Olumuyiwa Ogundele < muyiwacaleb at gmail.com> wrote: > My general thoughts would be to have an email ( *no-reply at members.ncsg.is > * )and do an auto-forwarding from that email to > a mailing list containing all the email that needs to receive notification. > It makes it cleaner and flexible to NCSG to add another email in the future > from the mailing list. > > On Sat, Jul 13, 2019 at 9:20 AM Tapani Tarvainen via Techteam < > techteam at lists.ncsg.is> wrote: > >> Sounds good to me. We have developed these procedures over the past month, and have shared them on the NCSG-Discuss list for NCSG member input for 14 days. We are now looking for input from the NCSG Executive Committee on whether or not these procedures can 1) be adopted, or 2) need to be further revised. I have attached our proposed procedures to this email in Word and PDF formats, and there is also a link here to them here in a Google Doc. The Finance Committee may in the future have a need to develop additional Internal Operating Procedures, but, for now, we think these procedures cover our most immediate needs. Thank you. This is permitted provided there are no cost implications for the NCSG or its member constituencies." I think these two paragraphs are unnecessary after the first one, in D 1. I would also want to move the contingency plan towards the NCSG EC, for I don't think the PC should be concerned with such operational side of the stakeholder group. -Raoul On Thu, 25 Jul 2019 at 21:06, Stephanie Perrin via NCSG-EC < ncsg-ec at lists.ncsg.is> wrote: > Dear Exec Committee members, We successfully reviewed the Finance > Committee operating procedures at the meeting this week, can you please > study them in order that we may approve them for sending on to full > consultation? If you combine FC and EC then you virtually eliminate the FC. This solution looks a bit counter intuitive, I agree, but I suppose its the most principled one. Shoveling it to the EC may be more practical, but one could argue it goes against the spirit of the Charter in having a FC at all.
