Date: Fri, 8 Jul 2016 14:47:19 +0300
Subject: [EC-NCSG] Election timetable
Message-ID: <20160708114719.GA5361@tarvainen.info>
All,
One item in our call today is our election timetable.
As ICANN wants new councillors known by 7 September,
we'll have to adjust our schedule accordingly.
So, here's a tentative proposal for the timetable:
Jul 11 : First check-in request mailing (more as needed)
Aug 1 : Open nominations for Candidates
Aug 14 : Close nominations for Candidates (made & accepted)
Aug 16 : Candidate statements deadline
Aug 18 : Conference call "meet the candidates"
Aug 19 : Final deadline for voter check-in
Aug 21 : Begin voting
Sep 4 : End voting
Sep 6 : Announce election results
Nov 9 : Term begins (last day of Hyderabad AG)
Comments welcome, online or during the call.

Dear EC members,
I've had to make a few small adjustments to the election timetable
(ICANN doesn't want to begin voting on Sunday and wants more time
between closing voter list and beginning of vote).
Please review
https://community.icann.org/display/gnsononcomstake/Elections-2016
and let me know ASAP if you spot any errors or have other
comments - quickly please, I plan to publish this tomorrow.
For quick reference, planned timetable now looks like this:
Aug 1 : Open nominations for Candidates
Aug 14 : Close nominations for Candidates (made & accepted)
Aug 16 : Candidate statements deadline
Aug 17 : Final deadline for voter check-in
Aug 18 : Conference call "meet the candidates" (TBC)
Aug 22 : Begin voting
Sep 4 : End voting
Sep 6 : Announce election results
Nov 9 : Term begins (last day of Hyderabad AG)

FYI. The date when they want to know Hyderabad travelers has been

previously.
So, please try to confirm which of you will be using NCSG EC
travel slots by August 2.
Thank you.

----- Forwarded message from Glen de Saint G?ry -----
Dear Tapani,
In order to service your travel needs for ICANN 57 in Hyderabad in a timely fashion, please submit your ICANN56 Meeting database to me by 2 August 2016.
A timely response would be appreciated in view of visa issues and the OFAC review.
Please note that if you are a GNSO supported traveler with a designated hotel accommodation funding, a hotel room is automatically secured for you, please DO NOT book your own hotel as it is un-reimbursable.
Please note that when requesting travel support, in the interest of fairness and in light of budget restrictions we would like you to take the following into consideration:
1. Respond timely to ICANN Travel regarding your upcoming travel to Hyderabad.
2. If possible please book direct travel requests. Detours and multi-stop trips are unfortunately not guaranteed.
3. Strictly limit your travel from your home to the ICANN meeting venue.
4. Arrive based on your approved dates of arrival to ensure your participation on meetings.
5. If you require a visa to enter the country, please make sure to acquire your visa immediately.
We would like to bring to your attention that the main conference venue and the hotels are very apart, at least half an hour by bus. If you have health or mobility issues please take the transport issues into account.
There will be regular shuttles between the hotels and the convention center and in the event that other transport may be required taxis will be available.
Many thanks for your cooperation!
Kind regards,
Glen

Ok, I will take NCSG slot then, but then I give the priority for Copenhagen, in case ICANN will not accountability then!

I will be traveling to India as a CCWG-Accountability participant, so Monika should use the NCSG travel slot to Hyderabad.
Thanks,
Robin

FYI. The date when they want to know Hyderabad travelers has been
pushed even earlier, August 2nd rather than 5th as we were told
previously.
So, please try to confirm which of you will be using NCSG EC
travel slots by August 2.
Thank you.

Kind regards,
Glen

Hi Robin,
Thank you. Joan told me she'll be using NPOC's slot, and I understand
Poncelet is coming as NPOC EC member, so we'll all be in Hyderabad. :-)
I'll let Glen know.
