[EC-NCSG] Next Executive committee confcall and application review

Dear All,

Attached please find the beginnings of a rethink about the NCSG membership application form.  I cut and pasted the 2 paths of the current form and added some comments and new language as I didn't have direct access to the Google doc.  I see this as starting point for discussion especially given the recent activity on the list serve regarding the confusing aspects of the current membership structure.  I suggest that we clarify the choices for the applicants and explain the constituencies better.  Bill's slide from the Saturday meeting may be useful for the this.

We have agreed that the form needs some improvement especially in the area of vetting individuals for whom we have very little information.  We also need to remove language that is not suited for organizations and revise accordingly.

I look forward to our discussion tomorrow.

Hi,

I cannot make the call this Friday.  I am sorry.   I give Rudi my proxy, if he accepts.   I don't know any of the individuals on the list of new applicant.  If anyone else does and can endorse them that would be helpful.  Otherwise, if they meet the basic criteria we need to approve them.

Also, with regard to the membership form itself, I will re-commit to making some suggestions for changes by the Los Angeles meeting.  I think this is important given the questions about new members on the list serv and will carve out time to do it and have something for discussion by LA.

we should "clean-up" this batch and avoid the accumulation of many pending application before LA meeting.

@Rudi please let me know if you need some guidance and more info on how to review the applications.

Finally, please confirm that you can attend the call in that date/time.
