[Ncsg-discuss] Invitation | AI and DNS Abuse: Keeping the Internet Safe and Open

Dear colleagues,

*Artificial intelligence is changing the landscape of DNS abuse — but it is
also changing how we detect, investigate, and respond to it.*

This raises an important question: *How can we strengthen Internet security
without undermining openness, privacy, due process, and the rights of
legitimate users?*

You are warmly invited to join the *Non-Commercial Users Constituency
(NCUC)* for a timely and high-level discussion: *AI and DNS Abuse: Keeping
the Internet Safe and Open*

The session will bring together distinguished voices from across the
technical, operational, legal, governance, and public-interest communities
to examine both sides of this rapidly evolving challenge.

We will explore how AI and automated systems are reshaping DNS abuse and
mitigation, while addressing some of the harder questions that deserve
greater attention:

• Can automated detection create false positives or unintended harm?
• How do we prevent security measures from becoming over-enforcement?
• Where should accountability lie when AI influences enforcement decisions?
• How can privacy and due process be protected?
• And ultimately, how do we make the DNS safer while preserving an open
Internet?
