*1. * *Why do you want to serve on the EC?*
Driven by my passion in ICANN activities and for more engagement and as i
learned a lot from my two fellowship opportunities ICANN 78 & ICANN 80 i am
interested in serving EC position in my region Africa. In addition i am
IETF 118/119/120/121/122 fellow i am planning a collaboration between IETF
and NCUC. Furthermore, i want to bring my experience through my
participation in different groups of IETF and propose the draft that
already did in IETF to investigate it from policy perspective with the help
of NUCU members.
In addition through my participation at NCUC CROP funding i am interested
in DNS abuse investigation especially that i hold ITU Women in
Cybersecurity certificate. In addition, i participated in many NCUC
volunteering activities in the way that i found my passion and want to help
my region. Hence, EC Africa position is my chance to contribute in my
region and in this context i will need the support of each one of the group.
*2. **Provide a brief biography of recent experience, associations, and
affiliations relevant to serving on the Executive Committee. Describe the
relevance of your personal and professional experience to serve on
the NCUC Executive Committee, and identify any conflicts of interests you
might have.*
I was recently appointed as a member of IPv6 cybersecurity coordinator of
North Africa. I want to share my expertise together with policy challenges
with the group. In addition, i am member of ITU AI Readiness Expert Group.
I believe in my leadership skills to take this role. Among my goals is to
improve engagement through capacity building programs. Participate in
mentorship process of newcomers. I participated in different IGF events and
panels.
*3. ** The EC performs several functional responsibilities for the
Constituency. What level of time commitment can you bring to your EC role
on a weekly and overall basis? Describe any concerns or limitations on your
ability to attend online meetings of the Executive Committee and ICANN
Meetings in person.*
Time management is my skill as a researcher. I am committed to dedicate
all the necessary time to my work on EC.
*4. **Communication with the membership is critical. How would you keep
members apprised of your EC-related activities?*
Following my responsibilities as a Regional Representative i will be in
charge in informing in proactive way about any calls of volunteering
activities. I am interested in mentoring newcomers in my region and involve
them in some volunteering activities. As an ambassador of my region Africa
among my duties in this role is to recruit new members and highlight more
visibility in the concern of NCUC activities.
I will advocate for more NCUC members engagement in ICANN related policy
discussion on the African continent, I will update NCUC members of IG
related activities in Africa. I will host routine online meetings to engage
regional members and ensure NCUC participation in regional activities. I
will engage with ICANN regional engagement team.
*5. **How do you foresee NCUC’s function, scale, or role changing in the
future? What areas of ICANN policy, if any, need more attention and why?
Incumbent candidates should answer in a manner that is both backward and
forward-looking, i.e. taking note of their contributions and work in the
previous year.*
Following my experience as a Fellow newcomer in NCUC i need mentorship to
know more about NCUC acticities. I am planning to invite fellows of my
region becoming members of NCUC to share their experience in ICANN and i
will explain NCUC policy process.
I believe the new g TLD program implementation require intense
participation by NCUC to ensure that more non commercials benefits from the
next round.
Thank you so much & Looking forward to your support !
