Excellent nominations. Bruna knows the nuts and bolts of NCSG and ICANN and has a great relationship with other stakeholders.

Christabel has been following ICANN and NCSG work very closely and always asks questions and does her own research quite diligently. I have been working with Christabel on DNS abuse working group and also she is our rep at SPIRT. She has shown such great dedication, spends a lot of time on the topic, alerts us to issues and attends PC meetings and keeps us updated, has a deep understanding of what NCSG stands for and I also think it's great to have new people that show dedication to have on the council. The essential human rights and digital literacy work Christabel does through her organization, CCPJD, can contribute to the  African perspective on so many of the issues that we discuss at NCSG and ICANN.

First of all, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who nominated and encouraged me for the Council role this year. I am truly honoured by the trust and confidence placed in me by members of this community.

After careful reflection, I have decided not to accept the Council nomination this year. I have instead accepted to run for the NPOC Chair role because I genuinely believe that this is where I am most needed at this particular moment for our community and for non profit organizations across the Internet governance ecosystem.

We are entering a period of major geopolitical uncertainty, shrinking civic spaces and increasing pressure on civil society organizations globally. In many ways, and to borrow from Game of Thrones, it feels like winter is coming for parts of civil society within digital governance spaces. This moment requires stronger coordination, strategic positioning and renewed solidarity among non profit actors.

For the NCSG Chair role, I would like to nominate Bruna.

Bruna and I have had our own lively debates, and perhaps a few friendly policy battles along the way, but that is also why I respect her. She is collaborative, principled and able to stand her ground when it matters. At this moment, NCSG needs someone who can bring people together while also defending the community’s interests with clarity and courage.

For the Council seats, I would like to nominate Christabel Mebaghandu and Juan Manuel.

I have had the opportunity to see Christabel grow over the years as a mentee and emerging policy voice within our community. I have been particularly impressed by her contributions within the ongoing DNS Abuse Working Group and by her overall commitment to policy processes and community engagement. We often speak about building the next generation of leadership, but at some point we must also be willing to give them the same opportunity and trust that many of us once received when others believed in us.

I would also like to nominate Juan Manuel, a respected veteran within the community whose experience, institutional memory and long standing engagement continue to be valuable assets for the NCSG and the broader ecosystem.
