[Ncsg-discuss] [Announcement] Welcome to New NCSG Members, April 2026

Dear Rafik, dear colleagues, and a warm welcome to all new members,

Thank you, Rafik, for the introduction and for your continued leadership of
the Non-Commercial Stakeholder Group.

I would also like to extend my welcome to all incoming members. It's great
to see the NCSG community growing in both diversity and expertise, which is
essential to strengthening non-commercial engagement within ICANN processes.

By way of introduction, my name is Abbas Sibai, based in Beirut, Lebanon.
I am a Member of the NCSG and currently serve on a recent assignment to the
SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team within the GNSO PDP. Professionally,
I work in governance and public policy, focusing on stakeholder engagement,
policy advisory, and bridging civil society, institutions, and the private
sector, particularly in complex and fragile contexts. Over the years, I
have been involved in policy research, advocacy initiatives, and the
facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes across different sectors.

My interest in NCSG and ICANN policy work is rooted in advancing inclusive,
accountable, and public–interest–oriented approaches to internet
governance, especially regarding access to data, privacy, and rights-based
frameworks.

I'm happy to connect with fellow members, especially those who are newly
joining, and support onboarding or collaboration where helpful. Please feel
