Thank you for the warm welcome.

I'm a legal and policy researcher at a non-profit think tank in Taiwan. Before this role, I worked in both the government and telecom sectors, which gave me a fairly well-rounded view of how policy, infrastructure, and the public interest fit together.

My research sits at the intersection of internet governance and digital rights, covering online platform competition, content governance, online safety, freedom of expression, and digital trust. I'm especially curious about how ICANN's domain name policies connect to the broader platform governance landscape.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here — and if there are working groups or discussions where a perspective from Taiwan's legal and policy field might be useful, I'd love to get involved.

Thank you sincerely for the warm welcome.

I am truly pleased to join the NCSG community and to collaborate with such a diverse and committed group in advancing the interests of non-commercial users within ICANN and the broader internet governance landscape. It is a pleasure to introduce myself to the NCSG community. I am Sadichchha Silwal, a licensed advocate from Nepal working at the intersection of law, technology, and human rights. I was one of nextgen at ICANN84.  I serve as the board member and chapter leader of ISOC Nepal chapter and am actively engaged in internet governance processes at national and regional levels.

My work focuses on online freedom of expression and association, privacy and data protection, cybersecurity law and policy, and accountable digital governance. I am involved in policy advocacy, regulatory analysis, capacity building, and multi-stakeholder coordination to strengthen public-interest safeguards in digital policy frameworks.

 I am particularly interested in how privacy and safety considerations within domain name policy intersect with digital rights and inclusive participation from the Global South. I look forward to contributing constructively to ongoing policy discussions within NCSG.

The chair of the NCSG Policy Committee will be sharing updates on public comments and opportunities to participate in working groups and policy discussions. As usual, we have several drafts in progress that will be shared for review and input.

We held our discussion in this mailing list. In addition to that, we have our monthly Policy call and sometimes webinars on specific issues, details will be shared in the mailing list. We also have several sessions during ICANN meetings and everyone can join remotely. You will also see we have several public consultations to respond to and volunteers drafting comments on behalf of NCSG.
