[Reminser] Call for Volunteers | GNSO Standing Predictability Implementation Review Team (SPIRT)

Hi everyone,

Thanks Rafik,  I just wanted to share a quick note about the Standing Predictability Implementation Review Team (SPIRT), a space that’s becoming really important for us in NCSG.
SPIRT is where ICANN will deal with new or unexpected issues in the next round of gTLDs, the kind that can really shape how fair and accessible the process is for NGOs, researchers, educators, and communities like ours.
If we’re not in those conversations, others will decide for us. I’ll be following the SPIRT work closely and would love to coordinate with anyone interested in joining or contributing. Even a few voices from NCSG can make a big difference.
Let’s make sure predictability also means fairness and inclusion.

Dear SG/C Chairs,

We hope this email finds you well.

The GNSO is seeking volunteers from the community to serve on the Standing Predictability Implementation Review Team (SPIRT). Convened and overseen by the GNSO Council in accordance with the SPIRT Charter, the SPIRT provides input to the GNSO Council, the ICANN Board, ICANN org, and the ICANN community on issues that may arise in the New gTLD Program following the approval of the Applicant Guidebook (AGB). As the SPIRT will function as an Open Model, any member of a GNSO Stakeholder Group/Constituency is eligible to apply.

The GNSO Council requests that volunteers take into account the expected membership criteria and rules of engagement specified in the SPIRT Charter. The SPIRT will tentatively commence its work during the week of 10–14 November 2025. At least half of the inaugural members will serve three-year terms. Initial membership must include, at a minimum:
   
   - One participant from the original Policy Development Process (PDP) Working Group
   
   - One participant from the PDP Implementation Review Team

 

Community members who wish to join the SPIRT should contact the GNSO Secretariat atgnso-secs at icann.orgby Friday, 17 October 2025 at 23:59 UTC.

For more information on responsibilities and work plan, please refer to the announcement pages on theICANN Website and theGNSO website. Again, to better prepare for participation on the SPIRT, please read its Charter as well as the Predictability Framework.
