hi all,
We will "officially" start the ICANN meeting this Monday. On Sunday we had
good sessions. One with GAC where we could present NCSG and share with them
our positions on HRIA on DNS abuse and Applicant Support Program. We also
had a good session with ALAC where we could share the same topics,
explaining more about HRIA to ALAC. Then we discussed operating standards
for reviews and we could get insights about concerns regarding what is
proposed for public comments. With Juan and Wisdom, we had a chance to talk
to newcomers, ICANN fellows and nextgen to introduce NCSG/NPOC/NCUC and
explain about their roles, also responding to their questions and
clarifying some confusion.
For GNSO working sessions, GNSO councillors reviewed upcoming
possible policy work and they raised concerns about labelling some already
as possible PDP before proper discussion. They also discussed in length
about billing contact where our representatives reminded again that it was
already covered in EPDP phase 1. Then they discussed previous DNS abuse and
what can be done. In the last working session, the GNSO council got an
update from the IANA team and from nomcom chair-elect. The GNSO council
also prepared quickly about the bilaterals with the GAC and Board.
We have no NCSG sessions on Monday but you can attend those below
