Amazon=?UTF-8?Q?=E2=80=99s_?=Lawyer on ICANN Board

Hello Listers,

Hope the majority of you are having a safe trip to Seattle or getting ready
for ICANN82!

I just read that Amazon’s counsel, Greg DiBiase, has been elected to the
ICANN Board, representing registries and registrars. Given Amazon’s dual
role as both a registry and a registrar, what does this mean for ICANN’s
balance?

Will his push for less “risk aversion” benefit the broader community, or
does this further tilt ICANN toward corporate interests? Should we just
grab popcorn and watch?
