Hi all,
I wanted to make sure that community leaders were all aware of two
important sessions on DNS Abuse that the RrSG & CPH are hosting at ICANN83.
*CPH DNS Abuse Community Update*
https://icann83.sched.com/event/246R0/gnso-cph-dns-abuse-community-update
Monday, 9 June 2025
13:45 – 15:00 (local time) / 11:45 – 13:00 (UTC)
Session description: Building on the 2024 Global Amendments to the RAA and
RA to address DNS Abuse, the Contracted Parties House (CPH) invites the
ICANN community to explore ideas for future work on DNS Abuse. This session
will present 4 topics worthy of discussion and the CPH wants to hear your
input. Following our community conversation we’ll create concrete outputs
to support the next phase of work, including targeted PDPs.
*RrSG Outreach: DNS Abuse – Example Review and Panel Discussion*
https://icann83.sched.com/event/246XQ/gnso-rrsg-dns-abuse-example-review-and-panel-discussion
Wednesday, 11 June 2025
10:45 – 12:15 / 08:45 – 10:15 (UTC)
Session description: Cross-community panelists share their perspectives on
example DNS Abuse reports with audience participation and input via Zoom
Polls and discussion. The goal of the session is to better understand
varying perspectives on how DNS Abuse is addressed and to consider what
further work is necessary to improve the stability, security, and
resilience of the DNS. We’ll look at example reports together and have a
dynamic dialogue about ideal outcomes, considering possibilities from
domain suspension through contacting the registrant all the way to taking
no action at all.
Please share this with your memberships and we hope that many of you will
have the opportunity to participate in both sessions. Session recordings
and presentation slides will be available afterwards for those who cannot.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Prague (in person or remotely)!
Regards,
Owen
