GNSO Standing Selection Committee (SSC) meeting (Wednesday, 22 Jan 2025)

Hi all!

In addition to the Julf report, we also suggested that Fellowship Mentors
candidates undergo a background check (probably through a dialogue with the
ombudsperson, but some implications regarding confidentiality had to be
evaluated) in the process, especially regarding harassment toward
newcomers. This couldn't be implemented right now, but it will be
considered for the next processes. Julf also brought up the importance of
knowing the feedback about mentors who were reapplying.

PS: I also need to apologize to the community regarding this late
attendance at the SSC meeting, which also happened in the first one - the
chosen timeframe overlapped a bit with the ending of work meetings on both
occasions (and we are starting the year with turbulent timeshare), so I had
to finish another commitment before joining and lost the initial part of
the SSC one. This does not, however, alleviate my responsibilities of
attending on time, so I'm trying to adjust my planning to avoid it
happening again, considering the importance of the SSC and of having all
our representatives there if any conflict arises.
