GNSO Standing Selection Committee (SSC) Kick-off meeting (Monday, 6 Jan 2025)

Hi everyone,

As one of the NCSG reps to the SSC I wanted to give you a short report
of the most recent meeting (Monday, 6 Jan 2025). As this was the kick-
off meeting for the 2025 SSC, the only decision point was the re-
appointment of Karen Day (RySG) as Chair and Segunfunmi Olajide (BC)
as Vice-Chair. These appointments have to be confirmed by the GNSO
Council at the meeting later this week.

There are two appointments that are coming up soon, with a rather
tight schedule (deadline for EOIs is tomorrow, Thursday 9 January).
One is for (GNSO-appointed) Fellowship Program Mentor, and one for
Fellowship Program Selection Committee Member. The latter has no
candidates so far.

Third appointment coming up for the SSC is the Latin Diacritics PDP
Working Group Chair where the call for WG members and Chair has just
been issued, with a 27 January deadline.
