NextGen at ICANN Mentor Program and Program Selection Committee Nominations

Hi all,

We've been having a discussion within PC about the process of selecting a
GNSO NextGen mentor and selection committee member (see the announcements
below). We sought clarity from staff, and we have been informed that while
the selection process is still not very clear within GNSO, we (NCSG) can
formally nominate a candidate into the GNSO pool (one for the mentor and
one for the selection committee), from which a single nominee from each
category will be selected to represent all of GNSO.

Given the SO must have informed ICANN staff of it selection by October 31,
if you are interested in this, (a few people had contacted me already),
please urgently send your EOI to myself, Julf and Andrea by 23:59 UTC
Monday September 30, so that the PC can quickly choose who to endorse and
share this with GNSO.

As suggested by Pedro on the mailing list, previous experience working with
capacity building or mentorship programs, in addition to understanding the
NCSG principles and policy positions would be strongly desired. Please make
sure you outline whether or not you meet these in your EOIs.

selection committee members. Each SO/AC is asked to nominate candidates for
these positions. Individual self-nominations will not be considered.
Interested community groups should select their respective NextGen at ICANN
Selection Committee volunteers by Thursday, 31 October 2024*.

*Interested community groups should select their respective volunteers and
notify Fernanda Iunes at fernanda.iunes at icann.org
<fernanda.iunes at icann.org>. Each selection committee member will serve for
a period of two (2) years beginning with ICANN82.*
